Grow, Cook, Eat Courses
Free Educational Farm Experiences

For Schools and Community Groups | Fully Funded
2–4 Hour Sessions
Step out of the classroom and into the countryside for a hands-on learning adventure like no other. Our Grow, Cook, Eat, Discover sessions are immersive educational experiences set on our working farm in Northamptonshire—designed to connect children and community groups with food, farming, nature, and wellbeing in a fun, memorable and meaningful way.
What's included
Each session is fully funded and tailored to the age, ability, and needs of your group. Activities may include:
- 🌱 Growing: Sow seeds, dig, weed, and discover how fruit, vegetables, and herbs are grown—learning about life cycles, seasons, soil health, and sustainability.
- 🍳 Cooking: Prepare and cook simple, nutritious recipes using ingredients grown or raised on our farm—learning food hygiene, safety, and healthy eating skills.
- 🌾 Exploring Nature: Walk around the farm and orchard, forage for herbs, observe wildlife, and learn how farms support biodiversity and the environment.
- 🧘 Wellbeing Activities: Connect with nature through sensory play, mindfulness, or gentle yoga—helping children understand how nature supports their physical and mental wellbeing.
Linked to the National Curriculum
Our sessions support learning across multiple subjects including:
- Science – Plants, animals, habitats, nutrition, lifecycles, and the environment
- Design & Technology – Food preparation, cooking skills, and understanding ingredients
- PSHE – Healthy lifestyles, teamwork, confidence, and mindfulness
- Geography – Land use, farming, sustainability, and climate action
- Citizenship – Community, responsibility, and how food choices impact the world
We provide pre-visit materials and post-visit classroom resources to reinforce learning.
Why it Matters
Children and young people today are growing up increasingly disconnected from where food comes from and the natural world around them. These sessions offer a rare chance to get hands-on with real food, fresh air, and farm life, building life skills, confidence, and a deeper respect for the world we share.
