How We Work

How Our Social Enterprise Works

The Countryside Kitchen is the flagship project of No Fuss Meals for Busy Parents CIC
.

We’re more than just a place to learn how to grow and cook food—we’re a Community Interest Company (CIC) with a clear social mission:To reconnect people with food, farming, and nature while improving health, wellbeing, and sustainability.

Business with Purpose

We run as a not-for-profit social enterprise, regulated by the CIC Regulator and held to high standards of transparency and accountability. Our profits are not paid to shareholders—instead, every penny is reinvested into delivering our community work.

Each Corporate Wellbeing Session we host directly funds a fully subsidised ‘Grow, Cook, Eat, Discover’ experience for a school or community group that may not otherwise have access to green space or food education.

This means every business we work with creates a lasting social impact—one that supports the next generation to live healthier, more sustainable lives.

How we Fund our Work

To establish and grow our enterprise, we’ve successfully secured a series of grants from respected funders. These have enabled us to launch workshops, create educational resources, and begin recording the measurable impact we’re having on individuals and communities. We also produce an annual impact report and submit audited accounts, ensuring we remain open, honest, and committed to the people we serve.

The Honesty Shop

Our on-farm Honesty Shop sells fresh, seasonal produce to our workshop attendees and the wider local community. We champion local farmers and food producers, offering products such as meat, eggs, preserves, and vegetables. All profits from the Honesty Shop go straight back into supporting our workshops and community programmes.

Powered by Partnership

We’re incredibly grateful to our growing network of corporate partners, who support us through:

  • Donations and sponsorship
  • Product and material gifts
  • Skills-based volunteering

Whether it’s providing cooking equipment, funding school visits, or offering professional services, our partners help us deliver high-quality, impactful experiences to more people.

Volunteer with Us

We couldn’t do what we do without our brilliant volunteers. We welcome people from all walks of life to lend their time, skills, and energy to help us grow.

We have a range of volunteering opportunities, including:

  • Event support and workshop assistance
  • Marketing and social media
  • Gardening and land management
  • Professional services (e.g. finance, legal, communications)
